Achieving goals result in rewards. But, mandatory meetings can become problematic when management doesn't consider employee availability or restrictions. Employees get reprimanded and get work hours cut for missing a mandatory meeting.
Support from management
Management are pleasant and friendly. However, most decisions are made with very little consideration of employee input. Many conflicts seem to be a challenge for management to resolve on their own and require the District Manager to intervene.
Some staff work well together. Nevertheless, there had been unresolved conflicts that ended with employees terminating their employment.
Freedom to work independently
There is autonomy to some degree.
There are mandatory meetings to discuss any work-related information and issues. However, management fail to discuss when mandatory meetings should be held to achieve 100% participation, considering every employee has a different availability.
Only women work in the store
Suggestions for improvement
- Better communication between management and employees, along with considering employee input to improve store sales and operations, will improve team cohesion and performance.
What I like about the company
The store offers great employee discounts.
What I dislike about the company
The lack of consideration of employee availability when planning mandatory meetings.
