Company Culture

Most of my coworkers were very friendly and helpful. However, the owners of the company as a whole are a bit too conservative and had some rules that seemed too strict.

Management provided adequate training on how to do the job

Most employees worked closely with each other on teams and needed to work together.

Employees almost always worked independently. Proper training and checklists were provided.

It was fun and creative, but mostly seen as a job for kids

The amount of hours worked each week could be very unpredictable. For a few winter months, no hours are available.

The building had an elevator, but I don't remember it working. There was a wheelchair lift on the stairs that never worked while I was there.

Training was not really provided for how to life heavy equipment

Challenging Work

The work itself was not overly complicated once trained, but there was a lot of physical work involving hauling and setting up equipment. Depending on the assignment for the day, the start time was also challenging, sometimes beginning at 3 a. m.

A bit conservative and focused on uniformity

Suggestions for improvement

  • More consistent schedules, security guards or at least someone at the office for people returning from late night jobs, less restrictive uniforms

What I like about the company

The job involved a lot of creativity. Having a wide variety of energetic coworkers made things fun most of the time. Most jobs were straightforward and provided variety due to location and subject matter.

What I dislike about the company

The biggest complaint I have is the hours. You may clock in at 8 p.m. one day for an evening job and 3 a.m. for a morning job the next day. Most evening jobs only lasted a few hours, while some daytime jobs had me on the clock for 12 to 14 hours. I believe they should assign people to jobs based on a regular schedule rather than unpredictable patterns of working very early one day and very late another day.

  • If you hear something about another employee you talk to them before making any rash decisions You do not gossip to other employees or management about employees If you’re in management you should have the common sense to talk big decisions over with other managers before sending in requests and making those decisions

Suggestions for improvement

  • Needs better training, more investment into employees and their abilities. Most issues could be eliminated if there were more time spent in the development of the employees and their skills.

What I dislike about the company

No one is safe. Even a permanent full time employee can be let go with little warning, after they have invested a great deal of heart and effort in the company.
