- Call Box30.Aug 2016
The company culture is entirely sales-driven and only rewards increasing MRR. Long-term anything is ignored.
Support from management
Developers are not involved in decision making at all. Expectations are absurd and directly damage the software quality.
There's a fantastic collaborative culture that persists despite the leadership.
Freedom to work independently
Trust of developers is all over the map.
There is much communication, but little communication of actual value.
Women are equal as far as I know.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There are very few people over 40.
As a developer, working here mostly hurts your career because you work with languages nobody else uses and training must be done on your own time.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation of developers is about half what it should be. Unless they need you and you threaten to quit, you will not receive a raise.
Office / Work Environment
Good ventilation and lighting. Incredibly noisy. Very cold. Terrible equipment.
The company is mostly paperless, but there is no recycling program.
There is constant pressure to always be working, and compensation and benefits are targeted at single people in their 20s.
Because management has no idea whether a developer is good or bad and can't tell if software is good or bad, there is little risk of being fired or let go.
The building has elevators.
I highly doubt the environment is safe, and there is no safety training.
The actual work is menial and made difficult be the low quality of the existing software. What you end up producing is shameful.
Inclusive / Diverse
Anyone is able to work here, but differing opinions are silenced.
Suggestions for improvement
- Completely change your attitude towards developers. Project managers should be developers. The CEO should get out of development all together because he is truly terrible at it.
What I like about the company
They have an absolutely amazing sales culture.
What I dislike about the company
There is no respect for developers at all. Developers that want to improve quality have been met with direct insults.
