The company is concerned with filling beds and not with the employees.
Support from management
Supervisor will enact strict or vengeful actions against employees if things do not go her way or if you get the union involved.
Most employees use this job as a fill in and will do the least amount of work possible or pass it off to the dedicated employees.
Freedom to work independently
No say so in structuring responsibility, a day 1 rsw is at the same level as one that has been there for decades.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Same rights on day 1 as day 500.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is poor as it is everywhere in health care. Although it is union, healthcare is minimal and even with a contract the company is not held responsible if they break it.
Office / Work Environment
PC's are available for some paperwork, no Internet access, most paperwork must be hand written. Primitive environment.
Open shifts can be known of months in advance but are normally filled the prior week (sometimes the prior day) and you do get mandated at the last minute.
Employee input is not received well.
Easiest job you will ever have if you can put up with the insults from the clients.
What I like about the company
It pays the bills.
