Faith in God, pledge to the school values. Very good working atmosphere, the school contributing to promoting a work climate of fairness and trust.
Support from management
Due to the character challenging of students behavior, teachers constantly were receiving support from management and administrators when dealing with undisciplined students. From this point of view, teachers had full authority above undisciplined students. Teachers were assisted to properly complete their tasks without being prevented from doing so by undisciplined students. Also, students were controlled and well supervised to prevent them from harming teachers as well as from harming one another.
Management, on the regular basis and frequently planned and organized pedagogical meetings to make sure team work was efficient; therefore, team work was well promoted and made easier thanks to staff frequent pedagogic meetings. As a result, colleagues worked well together and interact in an honest and direct manner.
Freedom to work independently
Teachers were granted autonomy regarding curricula; each teacher, expert in the taught subject, was left autonomous to research and organize their curricula with the conditions of providing management with a weekly lesson detailed and structured plan or outline as well as any else obligation required from educators as well-known.
Perfect. For example I was inform by management about the fact that parents and other staff unanimously noticed and recognize students' progress as well as the efficiency of the full immersion made use of based on students level and learning weaknesses as well as skills. I also was informed by management about how the insight and feedback I was giving about each student were being sent to parents so that they could be aware of the way their children were learning and behaving at school, especially in class.
Perfect equality. No comments needed in this regard.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Yes, attitude towards older colleagues were perfect. No special comments needed.
The potentiality was present and available: school was opened to promoting professional advancement.
Overall compensation for your work
Yes, the compensation was satisfactory. Indeed, due to the fact that Camp Jewell House is a small school, the salaries offered or paid in comparison to some other more important schools, were reasonably acceptable and satisfactory.
Office / Work Environment
Working Conditions were perfect, and teachers did never complaint about.
All the students at the school have medicaid and food stamp thanks to the school effort. Due to the humanitarian feature characterizing the school, other humanitarian organizations and individuals were in touch with the school and used to visit the school in order to contribute promoting its full development. The school made sure students had the same social activities as those of public and official schools as well as of other private schools. Students benefited from some Hollywood stars visits aiming to discover talents among the school's students; some of them gave speech to encourage students to perform outstandingly in order to reach educational and social success.
Work-life was balance. There is no special comments to make to that effect.
From my viewpoint, I strongly believe the school's image was great, and I do not reproach anything to the school as I did not hear complaints either.
Yes, the job was stable. The amount of subjects taught matched the students' needs, and there no risks of eliminating any subject.
There was no disabled employees. However, some students have disabilities or weaknesses, and the school provided them with therapists' constant assistance.
Perfect. Safety was one of the school most impressive accomplishments.
Yes, I did feel a sense of accomplishment when completing a task. As a matter of fact, due to the fact, most of the students were students with difficult behavior and expelled from public schools, successfully coping with them was highly challenging. Even so, I did find a way to make them follow the class and understand lessons based on their level and educational background. I was proud of my work products, mostly with elementary students. Despite some of their special needs due to some disabilities that were constantly needing therapists assistance, I invented a special pedagogy within the framework of full immersion that perfectly worked as parents and other staffs and the management did unanimously admit.
Inclusive / Diverse
Yes, the school promoted diversity as method of achieving business goals. Diverse opinions and ideas were supported.
Suggestions for improvement
- My suggestion for improvement consists as follows: management should make good use of its control of students to coerce them to do their homework and to complete their assignments under threat of disciplinary sanctions. This should absolutely be mandatory due to the fact that those students have some weaknesses when it comes to self-consciously completing their students' duty with the purpose of being successful.
What I like about the company
Camp Jewell House is a respectful and open-minded Employer, school. I felt comfortable and safe teaching at Camp Jewell House. Camp Jewell House is a humanitarian school giving educational success opportunity to students with disabilities and with difficult behavior to complete their education.
What I dislike about the company
I do not have any reproach toward Camp Jewell House as an employer. The only thing I can say is that management has plain control on undisciplined students: it can be made use of to lead students to success. As a matter of fact, students are punished for misbehaving, but they are not punished for not doing their homework. Given the control management has on students, if they could be forced to complete their assignments under threat of disciplinary sanctions, they would be studying, completing their assignments; which would result in a success. Most of the middle and high school students are capable of success, but they are just lazy to perform outstandingly in order to succeed.
