- Camp Playland02.Feb 2016
Unknown. It was taboo to talk about pay, but women usually worked with the younger groups and men worked with the older campers.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The longer you're there, the better you get paid.
No social mobility here, but I grew a lot while working here.
Overall compensation for your work
Very low salary- could get 5-10$/hour better at a different location with less work involved. The work itself is satisfying so it keeps workers coming back.
Quite. They are good at communicating, too, if you have any issues.
It's all one floor, but it's also all outside.
Inclusive / Diverse
Absolutely no diversity. As a person of color, it was slightly isolating. That's the surrounding area.
Suggestions for improvement
- Give better pay to entry level workers and to specialists.
What I like about the company
Amazing head staff. Very supportive, very inclusive, very welcoming.
What I dislike about the company
The pay was minimal, and rules were created on the spot by the owner of the camp, regardless of whether it benefited the workers and campers or not.
