Most people were friendly and up front. Behind closed doors policy making would make that seem questionable.
Support from management
Decision-making of lower level management was a combination indecisiveness combined with lack of logical approach. The amount of changes made to daily standard operating procedures was dizzying in the 1+ years I was employed there.
Teamwork was largely rated based on lower level employee interaction helping each other out. Leadership deserves little credit in this area.
Freedom to work independently
The one thing leadership succeeded at was keeping daily operations rolling on a half decent schedule. Apart from over-taxed workload on parts delivery.
Last minute, late. Post-action decions were commonplace. Snow days were generally last minute calls at best. Policies for snow days off cut into personal/sick days.
Be ready to fraternize, brown-nose, and play favorites to move up.
Let's do just say, some people have been there a long long time considering how much they are paid. This is a great place for stability if you toughen up to low pay for many years with few small raises.
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits aren't bad at all. Mostly awesome for single, young, live-at-home, few bills employees. But still accomadating for families.
Office / Work Environment
The working environment was well maintained and thoroughly inspected. Could safely assume only my first two weeks at the company were in their old building. New facility was nice despite corners of the foundation cracking from poorly chosen location/time of year for ground-breaking construction.
Not much to say here. No rights violations or bigotry going on. Healthy social environment.
Only life balance was the saturdays and holidays you didnt work involuntarily.
Turnover rates for lower level positions is crazy high. Company seems to show little care for emplyee retention/training except to perform basic daily job requirements.
OSHA is a joke here. Once a quarter there seems to be a small mitigated effort to meet standards.
Suggestions for improvement
- WORK ON EMPLOYEE RETENTION. Pay a little more. Company has such big potential to grow if brown nosing and favoritism were not there demoralizing less experienced employees.
What I like about the company
Location of headquarters in relation to industry it services and ease of accessibility by employees.
What I dislike about the company
Lack of clear incentive for any career advancement.
