The company culture was horrible, the boss of the branch was extremely passive aggressive and treated all employees like we were in high school.
Support from management
I received help when asked.
They encouraged us to work together to close deals if we felt that it would help.
Freedom to work independently
We were insanely micromanaged and barely able to work independently.
We always knew what was expected of us.
I did not notice any discrimination against women.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I did not notice any discrimination against older adults.
There were growth opportunities if you succeeded exceptionally in your current role.
Overall compensation for your work
The salary is comparable to similar companies and similar roles.
Office / Work Environment
The work environment was comfortable and compliant with Osha standards.
We were not encouraged to do anything environmentally friendly.
There was plenty of vacation days and holidays, but during a typical work week the hours put in were between 60-70.
It was a fortune 500 company with a reputable reputation but that was about it.
There was not enough new business to guarantee safety in any of the sales roles.
The building was handicap accessible.
The work environment was safe and there were no accidents that occurred.
It is very hard to sell high end copiers in a paperless environment.
Inclusive / Diverse
We were allowed to have opinions as well as they were company approved.
Suggestions for improvement
- There should be a work remote policy, lessen the forced office time and treat the employees like adults without the passive aggressive micro-managing.
What I like about the company
I was able to grow my professional skill set and was compensated nicely for my efforts while working. The commissions are high if you are able to sell profitable transactions and have a large customer base to regularly sell and flip leases too.
What I dislike about the company
I think all sales roles should have been able to be worked remotely. We were always required to bring all of our stuff with us on appointments. I did so much unnecessary driving while working for Canon, and had the worst commute. I lived 30 minutes away f
