Suggestions for improvement

  • They need to restructure how they sell to people by first not lying about the sugar content within their teas. They next need to effectively help employees feel less stressed by helping them learn how to effectively sell the product and by not treating them like shit and/or threatening them. Finally, they need to make sure all stores are well managed and that money or merchandise can not be easily stolen.

What I like about the company

I was able to interact with a nice group of people and the pay was great.

What I dislike about the company

They let employees steal money and receive no disciplinary action from it. We served food and they continually did not give us the resources needed to clean the place effectively leading to cockroach and gnat infestations. They consistently bullied employees into lying to our customers (i.e. telling diabetics there was no sugar in a tea they were trying when it was, in fact, heavily sweetened). Closed shops without notice, did not pay people for last week's of training during this time. Upper management needs to sit down and rework the company, treat employees with compassion, and hire managers that care.

Company Culture

Honestly no culture, upper management focus is sales even stripping away my comp time to try to make more sales.

Support from management

Zero support only visits to micromanage and conference calls.

Internal Communication

Communication comes from 3 different conflicting sources.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Only attractive people are hired as they can "sell" more.

Career Development

No room for advancement. All senior management is handpicked by the CEO from outside the company, no point if you can't move up.

Overall compensation for your work

Salary is paid I normally work 60-80 hours per week which lowers my salary.

Work-Life Balance

No work life balance as payroll has been cut to single staff coverage.

Company Image

No I am not as we are known in the community for not paying debts and treating people depending on the daily mood.

Job Security

Financial issues and organizational restructuring is a way of life for capital unfortunately you wonder if you will be next on the list or if there will be a deposit in your account come payday.

Handicapped Accessibility

No.

Workplace Safety

Not compliant and no training provided except for an outside agency completing servsafe certifications for us by taking our tests while we receive a certification.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Hire a new leader, or lose it all.

What I like about the company

You get to drink an endless supply of tea, however I can tell the quality has changed and I don't like the tea.

What I dislike about the company

I don't like the rep the company has. The person at the top sends out emails that makes you feel worthless for living, breathing, taking off time or doing anything other than being in your store working a 24/7 hour work week. Bonuses and expenses are not paid in a timely fashion. Insults are a way of life. Upper management turnover happens consistently and restructuring is the title of the email. If you do not get a new leader you will not be in business by the end of 2017. People are what make you run and treatment of your people is very important. Turnover is the only consistency besides the messages, meetings and visits that strip away your will to live.
