Upper mgt does not get involved when issues arrived. You were pretty much on your own in keeping the facility going. Company would not supply additional employees when needed

Company Culture

Condescending remarks abound from mgt and crewmembers.

Support from management

You must be assuming that mgt cares. That's a funny one.

Internal Communication

Only when they are shouted at by GM mgt do they think communication matters.

Older workers get asked their age repeatedly.

This company's future is questionable at best.

No benefits until 100 days of work are behind you.

They exclude employees from computer access and are content with the lights burned out and the toilets leaking.

In word only they are eco-conscious. If eco-steps are taken by an employee, they are treated disrespectfully.

The company shamelessly fires people with disabilities.

Some training to try and make GM's perception of them compliant.

The employees motivate themselves. The management has no interest to excel, so the employees have to lead the way.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Site Manager needs to fire all of us... And start over with a humble group of managers, supervisors, leads, and employees.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews through a third party consultant. Have that consulting firm report to GM stakeholders whether Caravan is ready to rebuild or be fired.
  • Pay attention to the big picture and hire reliable labor relations directors who are competent, responsive, organized, and understand Risk Management. Otherwise you may just want to contract that out as well.
  • Managers disregard training as an interference to their operation and seek to undermine the importance of employee training. Another reason most of them need to go.

What I like about the company

I thought I had heard a lot of trash talk in other jobs, but they taught me four letter words and insults I never heard before. If you like inconsistency, you'll love this employer. They keep the tobacco companies stocks rising with all of their smoke breaks.

What I dislike about the company

The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Favoritism and union strife show how dysfunctional the different groups are. The bad attitudes and violators of major rules of conduct are not held accountable. Managers dictate conflicting messages to employees. One manager is passive and isolates from employees in his charge.
