Suggestions for improvement

  • I would increase the pay for specialty departments, have more teamwork opportunities to better the department and more hands-on educational opportunities for the department.

What I like about the company

Every year if we have met the quarterly goals we receive a bonus at the end of the year, they also provide us with end of the year gifts also called appreciation gifts.

What I dislike about the company

I disapprove of the people who make the decision for our department but have never worked in our department and worked in a department that is very similar.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Budgeting to allow for extras. It seems as if the doctors gets everything and other areas get nothing. Why is it so difficult for therapist get training and supplies? You would expect a surgeon to pay for their own medical equipment so why can’t a therapist be reimbursed for updates therapy material. And training. It would be nice if therapist could use education money for overnight conferences and not have to pay for hotel and travel expenses. Doctors don’t

  • The PTO policy when it comes to holidays. we have to use our PTO on the days that we are close for major holidays.

I've come in contact with some pretty awesome people that I work with.

What I dislike about the company

the way that certain management can get away with certain stuff, that they should not be doing. I've had some really good managers, and other hand I've had some not so good ones.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Making is easier for employees to grow within the company. There is already a separate website for current employees to apply for different positions, but I don't feel that is enough. Current employees should get priority, and it should be easier to communicate with those posting the jobs so you can have a better chance of being granted an interview.

What I like about the company

The CEO tries to visit as many locations as possible, with a company this size it's difficult, but I have read many positive interactions that co-workers have shared about visits with him. We do charity group volunteer events at least twice a year and there are always opportunities to help within the community.

  • Gym memebership for employees, better pay and benefits, safer staffing ratios for nurses

What I like about the company

Great team work and I love working with oncology patients; also I have room for growth within the company.

What I dislike about the company

Poor benefits and working conditions. I often don’t have the supplies I need to do my job on a daily basis. More concerned with making money than taking care of employees or patients.

Support from management

Leaders here only require a piece of paper of graduation from a masters program. No experience or knowledge of the job at all. Makes it very hard for employees to respect leaders that cannot perform.

  • Rethink management requirements. A masters degree doesn't mean you are cut out for a job.

I enjoy working with my teammates. We all work very well together and can function in our department very well. Always get very positive comments from our patients.

There have been times where I have had great managers and they will do anything to help you grow and I have had others that say they will and then don't more for their own gain.

Work life balance is more work than life. Coming in early, not getting a full lunch and staying late, a lot.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Listen to your employees. Remember one bad apple spoils them all. Pay could be a lot more on the national level, we are some of the lowest paid nurses in the country and even in the state.

I ended my decade of service to the patients of CMC because Administration offered no support. If you don't drink their kool aid, your opinion is not valued. It is a very political organization.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Reduce the levels of hierarchy. Especially at CMC, administration expects to be treated as gods. It is the employees on the floor working with patients that deserve that respect. Serving ice cream and giving speeches a out one team isn't enough. It is actually very condescending.
