There are two levels of leadership in question here, the managers, who have been bending over backwards to keep this company running, and the owner, who is more of a hurdle than a leader. I worked in the graphics dept, creating prints, and preforming graphic design services, half the services he promised, we could not do, or at least could not do a professional level job, as he would not pay for equipment. Pricier jobs (in say, the $100 or more range,) he often would comp the customer, even giving away for free if it was for a show, or they were a friend. Then he cries that sales numbers for the department are down. He tries to sell dot matrix printer paper for it's original retail price, and has no concept how much the graphics dept. work on the computer, claiming we're not busy.
Meanwhile the general, and store managers have to try and work around him. The only time things run smoothly, is when the owner is off on vacation to indonesia for 5-6 months...I'm sorry, I don't mean vacation, I mean 'working out of the office'
