At the time I worked there, the accounting department was a central department to the health of the/any car dealership. With that said, the environment was very toxic, because of the personal attitudes of almost all the team members. If you are a part of the core, there needs to be a healthy, flourishing, and caring of others in order to grow. Almost all operated as if they were there only because they had to have j-o-b... Advancement beyond the cubicle was quite hard to achieve, as it seemed management didn't want to train replacements. I left, so I could pursue employment with an employer, who wanted to invest in me, as much as I invested in them.
Suggestions for improvement
- Frequent employee / team building for ALL. While there are many different parts, without 1 part, the is no whole. Not 1 area should ever be left out... Move people who have become apathetic and lackadaisical to a different area of the company and give them opportunities for growth. Maybe they are just in the wrong departement.
