Support from management
No it does not. They will ask you to do certain things then stop part way and tell you do another and then question you why the first thing isn't done.
Rarely will you get all the information you will need to do your job, you are expected to just know things some how and are treated as if you were dumb and should have known.
Everyone is treated equally, not fairly or great, but equally.
Attitude towards older colleagues
As long as you work and are there when you should it doesn't matter.
Poor training and you are reminded that none of you matter and are all completely replaceable.
Overall compensation for your work
Very low wages for industry standard for the work you will be doing let alone the way you be treated or talked to. Raises if any are very random and biased at best.
Office / Work Environment
Almost no safety equipment, hardly any guards on machines, no kick back rakes, ventilation is laughable at best, there are quite a few dust collectors but barely make a difference at all, if you enjoy using your lungs you better bring a nice high quality respirator.
No recycling what so ever, everything in the garbage, tons of smaller pieces of wood and particle board that could be used for many other smaller projects are tossed out constantly with out any concern at all.
Actually somewhat relaxed about this, I've had to leave several times to take care of family issues and management has been fine with it as long as you clock out but you might pay for it by 'suggesting' you take a few days off.
I'm actually trying to figure out how it is still in business.
Many times employees were laid off with almost no warning for an undetermined amount of time, like an hour before your alarm goes off to get ready to go to work and 'until further notice' which may never come more likely then not.
Everything is ground level and very accessible to everyone.
Hardly anything in there is safe, almost no guards, no kick back rakes, the one forklift is almost in a state of nearly falling apart, anyone working there should get at least some sort of hazard pay on top of regular wages.
The challenge in this job is trying to know things before you are taught and almost seems like an annoyance if you are not sure how to do something. Very rarely was proud of any of my work but when I was it was because I told too long, they will sacrifice quality to get products out quickly.
Inclusive / Diverse
Very diverse work force. It ideas are not part of that, any thoughts that aren't theirs are looked down upon and then disregarded.
