Support from management
Managers/supervisors held no power to make changes necessary to accomplish our goals
If you're not from Michigan you will not receive the same treatment.
It was a struggle to get time off. We worked 80 hours weeks out of motel rooms away from my home. I was told I would be on the road for two, maybe 3 weeks. I was gone a month and given 3 days off. 1 day to drive 10 hours home, 1 day at home, at 1 day to drive 10 hours back.
Suggestions for improvement
- Give management the ability to manage their projects and to restrict contractor favoritism.
Don't bid on work just to get work. Inform yourself of the project and know what you're getting into before hand. A year to rebuild half a state of communication infrastructure without permits is a recipe for disaster.
What I dislike about the company
Constantly working 80 hour weeks. No home/work life balance. Not honoring terms established in the offer letter
