Support from management
Very hard to move up if you have a mind of your own. The only time they want the employees opions is if it agrees with there agendas.
Team work is usually good between co workers
Freedom to work independently
Overtime is terrible especially for new hires. Very short staffed and lots of double shifts.
Internal communication is horrible. The admin staff is so far disconnected from the floor staff it's ridiculous.
Seems pretty fair as far as that goes.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The longer you are there and the more experience you have the less likely you are to get a promotion.
Overall compensation for your work
Fringe benefits are good but you can make more money at a factory with less stess and a better schedule.
Office / Work Environment
Environment is clean but you are around inmates all day but overall it's not bad.
Work life balance is poor. If you're a new hire you will be doing lots of double shifts. Only have weekends off 2 times a year. Rarely have any holidays off.
Job security is good always going to be people getting in trouble.
For the most part it's a safe place to work.
Not really challenging it is different every day constantly dealing with different people and situations.
Suggestions for improvement
- Make the pay higher. Promote quality supervisors. Give some extra perks like gym membership and quarterly bonus.
What I like about the company
Job security most of your Co workers are easy to get along with.
What I dislike about the company
Admin staff doesn't care about staff. Poorly managed. No incentive to stay until retirement age because on the job experience and knowledge doesn't help you move up the chain. The longer you've been employed the less likely you will ever get promoted. They usually just want people that will be little robots and not question anything. Most people who are promoted have very little knowledge on how to do the job and have only been there just over a year, leaving senior staff to have to train their supervisor.
