I liked my bosses, even when that changed repeatedly.
Support from management
You are on your own from week 2.
You can survive longer by collaborating as a team. During my term, we had a scrum framework.
Freedom to work independently
There we no clear boundaries of responsibility or accountability.
Weekly meetings, monthly meetings, scrums, email, skype, chat and VOIP
Attitude towards older colleagues
Challenges did not depend on age.
Self-funded self-development was OK as long as you did not do it on company time. Most time was company time. See work/life balance.
Overall compensation for your work
Industry average for tier two FT salary per BLS - Role changed every quarter, so it was hard to compare.
Office / Work Environment
I controlled my work space, so I determined my own working conditions.
We were told if we were not working 48 per week, we were not worth our pay. Averaged 60 per week, and only 4-8 per day when on vacation.
With a name history like a ping-pong ball, one would not expect much of a brand image.
Pure stack-ranking strategy to achieve 20% churn quarterly worked per the company's expectations.
Given novel problems and no support, there were plenty of things to learn independently.
Inclusive / Diverse
The group was certainly diverse.
Suggestions for improvement
- Abandon the cannibalistic business model.
What I like about the company
There are talented, bright, personable people working for the company.
What I dislike about the company
I do NOT like the business model. I believe the model is the backbone of toxic capitalism.
