The leaders are two brothers that refuse to hire enough management staff, and a wife who's only a figurehead president. The mom is the accountant. They operate via fear and intimidation. They are rude, disorganized, dysfunctional, and overall inexperienced in the asphalt paving business. Their paving often fails testing, after which they fire the current paving foreman, who is really the scapegoat. Somehow they keep winning government contracts, likely thru underbidding.
Information is specifically hidden from employees as much as possible, e.g. vacation hours earned, leave and disability, workplace injury processes, etc. Money and profits are never disclosed. Only the owners of this corporation know the info.
