Suggestions for improvement
- Keep workplaces heated comfortably. Listen for safety concerns. Pay more attention to sexist dress code policies. Work harder on having a more accepting and inclusive work space that everyone feels comfortable in.
What I like about the company
Their billing department, where I started, has a wonderful manager. She's tough, but fair and will protect any employee who shows up and works hard. She encourages ideas and pushes people to pursue their dreams. When possible, she even will give the means. The schedule in that department is exceedingly flexible and the overtime pay is amazing.
What I dislike about the company
There are sexist dress code policies in place and a lot of the men treat women very, very differently. Even after demonstrating how capable I am, I am talked down to because I'm female presenting. I have helped implement new procedures just to have the men in the company try to explain to me how they work even they they know I implemented it. The buildings are not always taken care of. They have buildings and trucking terminals across the country, but if it's not main location, how they look or function doesn't matter. You can only move up so far, but that's an issue in any company. Overtime is practically mandatory in most departments. Which isn't awful, but the holidays get hit the worst with overtime.
