The following benefits were offered to me
- Are you a Current or Former Employee?Current employee
I have made many friends across different teams as well as job functions in the company. From my time at CGI Federal, the people that you surround yourself with will help bring you up within the company. Additionally, I have not known anyone to be truly unhappy with the work that they are given. If a member feels that they are being worked too hard or if they want extra work, there is an open door policy with the managers. For example, I am able to go to the VP of the project that I am working with if I have any concerns and they will be happy to schedule time out of their busy schedules to have a conversation with me. Not only that, I have been afforded the opportunity to go and be a part of a mentor/mentee program. Within this program, I have been shown many different opportunities that CGI can give me (via tuition assistance, training programs and lateral movement within the company).
The parts of my company that I disapprove of is the lack of transparency when it comes to compensation. I believe that we should know what our peers are making in relation to us. Why? Because I feel that within a group of people, if you all are doing the same work, that you should be paid the same - all else equal. If other people are working harder or have more projects that they're working on/are in charge of, then I believe they should be compensated more. As for compensation, I believe that CGI needs to make an effort to pay its employees at least the market average. CGI is a large company, it loses too much money hiring new people to replace those who have found better offers by quitting.
