My team understands and relates to many cultures including team members from many different cultures & experiences.
Support from management
I can feel the support from the partners everyday and I know I can count on them to have my back at work and in personal matters no matter how big or small.
We all work together for the benefits of the firm and our clients. Without teamwork, major & intricate pieces of our firm would fall apart.
Freedom to work independently
I do my tasks each day without a boss breathing down my neck. My tasks are my responsibility and I am accountable for them but I also have guidance available if needed.
Communication is how we operate and run smoothly.
No male or female is treated differently and you earn your position by the work you do and trust you earn. There is no different wage/benefits based on gender.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I work with a team with many different age groups and we all are treated with the same level of care and respect.
Office / Work Environment
Office morale is really good and we are always happy to see each other. There is no tension or conflicts that fester and no office bullying.
Everyone smiles, we give compliments to one another & help each other feel better when someone is feeling down or stressed. On an as needed basis we counsel and lift each other up.
Hard work and stress is a part of the legal aspect of our firm but we are able to go home to our families at a decent hour and co-workers also get together after work to bond. Many of us even take time to meditate or do yoga/exercises.
There is a wheelchair ramp into the building along with handicap accessible bathrooms and large walkways to allow for wheelchairs. No need to walk up/down stairs.
We are a personal injury firm so of course we watch for spills or walkway obstructions and any other potential hazards.
Inclusive / Diverse
No one is made to feel uncomfortable or secluded. We are all a part of the same goals and work together to get there. We are all unique in our own way and I feel that different experiences, walks of life & personalities make us stand above the rest.
Suggestions for improvement
- I think that continued growth and technology training are some goals I have but I believe the office always monitors and researches more ways to improve including asking for suggestions from the staff.
What I like about the company
I like that this firm is ever growing, there is always something new to learn and look forward to and there is no monotony in our days. The partners and staff do so much to help our clients and they have an open door policy where you feel comfortable discussing work or personal questions and concerns and it makes me feel like a have a valued voice. The partners and staff help me to feel appreciated beyond any other employer I have worked for and I will be here until I am too old to work.
What I dislike about the company
The only aspect I do not like is that the Pittsburgh office and NY office work together by phone and email and do not get enough face to face time. Even though this is necessary to have a more diverse set of colleagues and I can visit NY to see my NY colleagues.
