Support from management
Good supervision, learning, and growth opportunity.
OSHA does not apply to my position, however, in public health you are required to go into some areas that are not always safe. Hyper vigilance was required when we traveled into high crime areas. The population we served made the risk worth it because they needed our services and appreciated us.
Suggestions for improvement
- None, I enjoyed working for them and likely would have continued but the compensation package was a factor in my leaving as well as the fact that me direct supervisor was retiring and I just felt it was time for a change...I knew it wouldn't be the same without her and I was offered her position, but was not interested in it.
What I like about the company
Good, caring staff that liked working in public health. Also set rules that helped employees across a broad spectrum of job descriptions to be treated fairly and equally.
What I dislike about the company
Public Health positions unfortunately compensate their employees at a much lower rate then private sector positions.
