Support from management
Management operated like a cult. Fitting in was very hard. Secrets were kept at plant manager position and safety director. Getting to feel like part of the team was almost impossible.
While addressing the union work force, all was good. While addressing management everything was micro managed.
Freedom to work independently
All of the managers work load was distributed down so their involvement became minimal. That also came with several cases of being given work that wasn't in the positions scope and then being blamed for inconsistencies.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation was fair based on qualifications.
Office / Work Environment
Was moved to main production area to make sure conversations were not overheard from plant manager to safety director.
There was a high level of discerning attitudes among workers.
Was let go for no apparent reason.
Company had a large environmental cover-up involving many cases of spills and non reporting. Safety director was investigated at least 4 to 5 times by home office lawyers during my employment.
Suggestions for improvement
- Nothing in fair value except a total management change.
What I like about the company
Union workers were all hard working individuals who were receptive to safety procedures that were put in place.
What I dislike about the company
Management was very secretive and sneaky. They operated in a click and to date plant manager was fired, safety director was fired, head of personnel was fired. I was let go before all by the former safety director.
