Freedom to work independently
Yes, as a Security Officer, my partners and I are able to function at our site without the stress of being micro-managed or having someone hovering over us at all times. We move around freely and independently without any issues.
Overall compensation for your work
The compensation is base pay. Meaning, you're started off a bare minimum as a regular Security Officer and told you would be eligible for a raise after your 90 day probation period but more often than not you are often overlooked.
Not entirely. This is due to the lack of organization and support of the company.
The work can be challenging at times when certain matters or issues surface. Ex. When someone tries to steal from the client or a person is in need of medical attention. In these moments, when matters are resolved or concluded in a reasonable manner, I do find myself taking pride in the end results.
Suggestions for improvement
- Focus on organization. Refrain from spreading yourself thin. Instead of trying to take on accounts without the sufficient amount of man power to supply their needs and end up scavenging for guards in the end just to accommodate them, really focus on the guards that you do have available and factor them in to know where more or less you stand. Utilize the Field Supervisor when they're truly needed instead of having them so spread out. Keep everyone in their assigned category. Another words. Refrain from having your Officers with posts from having to move around like flex officers/rovers, that's what Flex officers/rovers are for. If there is not enough Flex officers/rovers to go around, focus on hiring more. Pay the officer his/her worth. If you want a good quality and well trained Security Officer who will ensure your service with the assigned client, compensating him/her poorly will not produce the greatest results in the long run.
What I like about the company
A lot of the Staff Members are polite and helpful. They try to accommodate you to the best of their and your ability. I, also, enjoy working with my co-workers.
What I dislike about the company
There is a lot inconsistency with the scheduling. Your schedule can be subject to change due to the company's need to accommodate another clients needs where, as an employee, you wound up having to cover someone else's shift at times. I also don't like that don't get compensated for your level of experience. One may have 10 years + experience in Security and it won't matter. You'll start off like everyone else, at the bare minimum wage, unless you start off as a field super., which is only a two dollar difference. Another thing I dislike is that the company only gives you one uniform until it is worn out. Then, and only then will they issue you another one.
