Company culture

The company culture is in shambles. Top leadership thinks all is okay but actually employees are unhappy and afraid to say anything from fear of loosing their job.

Support from Management

There is no management support at Choice. Managers are only interested in their bonuses. So they spend their time socializing and not being accountable. Their teams are demoralized by the fact they are working hard and not getting recognized are being paid fairly for the work we do.

Suggestions for improvement

  • No one is going to be happy long-term when they are bullied and intimidated by managers as a way to motivate. The facility and location of the place is attractive but the culture is ugly and many people are unhappy.

I like about the employer

The PTO and flexibility for scheduling time off was excellent. The facilty was nice and clean and comfortable.

I dislike about the employer

The environment was very tense and cold and not suited for becoming comfortable with working with members of other departments. Mid-management is not closely watched and given too much freedom over how they treat their employees. Employees are made to feel they should be scared at all times they are going to be fired. Members of the department I worked were under the influence of drugs while on the clock and it effected their ability to contribute to the team. This was known by the manager, however, because they were personal friends the issue was overlooked. Members of the team who were not personal friends were heavily reprimanded if a violation of a minor policy was committed.

Support from Management

Very little support from direct management. Especially across department lines.

Teams work well within themselves but not so well across departments,

Frequent crisis situations because departments don't communicate.

Rather than say "promotes" diversity it might be more accurate to say it jams it down your throat. It's a way of attracting and appeasing the non-US born franchise holders.
