Suggestions for improvement
- I feel the improvements that could be made with the hotel I worked at could, pay more to hire employees in all areas to do the jobs they were hired for. I feel that it's good for a team to help out but I don't feel the work load should be put on one person or shift.
What I like about the company
The positive personal experiences I had was interacting with the people/groups that stayed at the hotel. Also I enjoyed the employee discounts and staying in the other hotels in the chain. I liked the hotel atmosphere and ambiance of the Sleep Inn, the beds are very comfy as well as the breakfast that's included in the stay.
What I dislike about the company
The main part of my disapproval of the company or at least the management I was under, was that I felt they were unfair with my duties as a Front Desk associate. I worked as the Night Auditor. When I came on my shift not only was I expected to do the Front Desk duties, like answering phones, making reservations on the phone and walk-ins, Night Auditor duties as well as doing the laundry that was most times over 5 loads. I had to pull the laundry out of the laundry shoot, sort it, wash, dry and fold all of it before the morning shift came in. I had to do it all by myself. They also wanted the pool area straightened up and the breakfast areas, hallways mopped. On top of that I was also to prepare the breakfast and set up the breakfast area. I felt that the day shift housekeeping didn't do their job because there wasn't enough housekeepers to do the job so it was left for me to do on my shift.
