Suggestions for improvement
- First of all we need to be paid a living wage. I don't even make 10 bucks an hour and my job is not exactly perfectly easy working with mentally handicapped individuals. We don't receive regular raises keep up with cost of living I have received like one raised in the four years that I've been there. Next thing I need to find a way for us to be able to work the full set of hours a client has available to them a month. Otherwise we're not really being able to help out that client to the most full extent. My client has over a hundred and seventy hours a month however locking Us in at 40 hours a week now handicaps us and we're not always able to complete everything we need to do in a month for that client.
What I like about the company
My boss is actually not the company that I work for my boss is actually the parent of the child that I take care of. Therefore that allows more flexibility in setting my hours that I work. However not all bosses Maybe the same since each client is different. I just happen to have a very flexible client.
What I dislike about the company
I'm not a fan of the fact that the government took away our ability to work more than 40 hours a week. If I work more than 40 hours a week the first time I get a warning in the second time I get fired. It used to be that a client had so many hours a month allotted to them and it didn't matter how you worked those hours you could work 50 hours one week and 30 the next. However the government tried to make things better for us healthcare workers and in return made it a lot harder for us and now we're locked down to 40 hours a week and actually cannot even complete the number of hours a client has for the whole month unless there happens to be a partial 5th week in the month.
