I'm so happy to be free from that prison...stay away!
Families and employees leaving unexpectantly, being told to not talk to any employees or walk on the grounds again, and not being told the truth about where people suddenly disappeared too?? What kind of company culture do you think it has? Not a positive one that's for sure!
Support from management
What management? There was no consistent leadership and direction. How could they support their employees when they don't know how to run a school?!?!
CELA leadership is not interested in any unique ideas that differ from their views on education. When feedback was given from parents or teachers, administration became upset and defensive. Schools should be a collaborative environment where students should be the primary focus.
Freedom to work independently
Controlling what door you used and where you park as well as signing in and out everyday with the time was not my way of being treated like a professional. The last time I did that was when I worked in high school at a McDonalds.
Honest communication?? No way. Administration will tell you what they want, when they want to, and forget about confidentiality. There is nothing honest about that school.
It was not much of a balance. At one staff meeting a teacher was praised from the owner of the school for working on weekends.
There is no job security. They can let you go on an instant with no reason, formal review, or performance assessment.
All the employees from teachers, office staff, to cleaning crew worked so hard and it never seemed enough. Didn't help that policies, curriculum, and everything changed on a dime!
Inclusive / Diverse
There is no diversity...period!
