During the time I was employed with this company, I did enjoy the atmosphere at the store level. The group of women on my staff was one of the most dedicated, engaged, pleasant groups I have ever worked with.
However, during the almost 7 years I was with this company, after managing 3 different stores, I came to realize there are a lot of politics that occur above the store level.
When I first went to work with this company, it was known for being an ethical, honest, transparent company:in the latter years it became a much different atmosphere. There was huge turnover at the district manager and higher positions, and because everyone was experiencing the same behaviors, gossip, strife, and unease became daily problems.
After I left their employ, I discovered how grossly underpaid I was by interviewing and discussing salary with other companies for comparable positions based on results and experience.
