Managers Are Schemers Ruining Company

1.61

Company Culture

Upper managers pushed to make people come in all the time for meetings that were useless. They couldn't get enough admissions and they pressured us all the time because of it. Talking bad about people and power trips was all the time.

Support from management

It was a lot of promises and you did alright if you believed it. But mostly it was on the job training yourself.

Teamwork

Everyone came in for extra meetings and things just got worse. It didn't feel the same anymore. People started bringing up things about each other and it just went down hill. No one trusted each other anymore.

Freedom to work independently

You had to be careful that someone wasn't whispering secrets all the time. It started to feel like the only way to do the job was to join into it. One manager came around and talked about having his door open for suggestions. I found out it wasn't so.

Internal Communication

I thought it was going to be about respect and doing a good job but I was turned into someone I could not respect. Communication became about reporting people.

Gender Equality

They hire mostly women but that was because there are more of us in this job.

Attitude towards older colleagues

They had a lot of older people and they treated them ok.

Career Development

It seemed great at first but I learned in order to get ahead there you had to play a game.

Overall compensation for your work

They don't pay what other companies do for salaries. I am much happier with somewhere else. They also pay less on mileage. The irs says to pay 54 cents but they pay 37 cents. Most people who work there don't know it. Since most people work out of the office they should also not deduct first and last trips to the office when paying mileage since they start from home and go home most times. Their on-call is also paid poorly compared to other places.

Office / Work Environment

Most people worked out the office. It got to be I hated going in. It was lots of paper work every day over and over. Too many meetings went on all the time.

Environmental Friendliness

People would be hired nice and cheerful but they soon changed their tune with the clicks.

Work-Life Balance

We worked full time which meant up to 60 hours a week sometimes. We had to lie to ourselves and really to the patients.

Company Image

It was okay but its getting worse and other places know it.

Job Security

I felt secure as long as I agreed and went along with the promising but not really being able to do what we said. I just got tired or all the talking about people.

Handicapped Accessibility

Okay

Workplace Safety

Okay

Challenging Work

Is it challenging to constantly berate and not respect people behind their backs and smile to their faces. Yes that was the challenge for me and not the job after awhile. I'm glad I left.

Inclusive / Diverse

They preach all this team stuff and diversity but it didn't seem the case to me.

Suggestions for improvement

  • This company should have stayed small but successful. It was once upon a time a family. But that was all gone when I left. It used to be about the patients really.

What I like about the company

I used to like it before I found out the management training was more about money. The working schedule was okay when I was a nurse in the field but when I became a manager it was terrible.
