Senior Executive Reset Button Is Needed
Supervisors fail to commend employees on the great deal of effort put forth to meet deadlines. This creates the sense of being over worked and under appreciated.
Support from management
The HR department lacks the necessary training needed to resolve issues in the work place which causes major conflicts within the bank.
This is not a team environment like most offices.
Freedom to work independently
The workload isn't fairly distributed and in most cases people are forced to have a workload which requires at least 2 -3 people. This creates a large amount of stress amongst all employees.
There is a very major lack of communication at this bank. In some situations employees are told projects are due the day they are assigned leaving very little time to complete projects in a timely matter.
Not everyone has the same career opportunities as others. People with an extended background and experience have been pasted for promotions while other people with half the experience, education, and background have been promoted to roles that they didn't earn.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There is a lack of respect at this establishment especially for those who worked at the bank for a long period of time (15 years and more)
There is a lack for career development and there should be more of a presence.
Overall compensation for your work
This has always been an issue. The wages and salaries do not match the responsibilities and most importantly the bank doesn't pay satisfying salaries.
Office / Work Environment
The working conditions can be improved. In one case there was a BED BUG infestation which required the bank to close for extermination. No one informed the employees of the exact problem until after the situation was addressed. This wasn't helpful because some co-workers unfortunately brought that problem home with them causes more problems.
Not at all... the bank can use more resources to be brought up to speed as to what is going on in the community that they serve.
This was a major issue at the bank. There have been many situations where vacation time was rejected due to lack of staff or there are certain rules that must be followed in order to take time off.
Yes there is a risk for positions to be eliminated. Employees are in constant fear of loosing their job.
No accessibility and tools and resources for the disabled is lacking.
No the working conditions do not comply with the OSHA standards and training to ensure that the bank is a accident-free environment is available.
Employees complain about the lack of accomplishment felt when completing a project because the senior staff take the credit for the work being done or some employees are criticized for not doing enough..
Inclusive / Diverse
The bank does not promote diversity and when employees try to do this, they are penalized.
Suggestions for improvement
- The bank could perform better if senior management structured differently. Also if there was more training and educational resources available the performance would improve.
What I like about the company
I liked the location of the bank since its located directly across the street from City Hall. City Hall is where the Mayor of Newark's office is located.
What I dislike about the company
The believe senior management can use training on how to run a retail bank properly especially the current President of the bank.
