Suggestions for improvement
- Overall, I don't think there are any changes the City can make because it is very positive and encouraging.
What I like about the company
I love that my part-time position allows me time off, I can pick up my kids from school, and attend school. If I need to come in late or early due to appointments, I'm able to make up that time. I can work on school at work or other things. My supervisors are very relaxed and knowledgeable about City matters. I also love that there is a gym on site and fitness classes available. In addition, there are ways to earn a little extra money if you're actively getting fit.
What I dislike about the company
My supervisor is extremely knowledgeable, but he isn't very dependable and I understand that is probably because he is a little overwhelmed. However, I am the first person most constituents speak to when they have a concern so when my supervisor doesn't get back to them in a timely manner they get upset and usually with me. I also feel like I have no autonomy at this job. Although I'm told I can schedule meetings or do XYZ, it ends up backfiring when I do. So, I'm hesitant to schedule things or sometimes send Constituent concerns to City Staff for assistance.
