Communication among employees/management has been a problem. Lots of positive changes to better meet needs of customers
Always room for improvement but I think overall the culture is great

Not enough workspace
Working with the public can be a challenge. Especially with the variety of people who use the library
Suggestions for improvement
- I would actually listen to the employees who are on the "frontlines" who are in direct contact with the public. Listen to their suggestions. Challenge them to come up with their own programming ideas for the public
What I like about the company
We strive for excellent customer service. With good management, employees feel valued and tend to do better than average work. We are constantly updating our available resources based on community needs. We offer free classes to the public. I feel that the library is striving to stay relevant. To entertain, inform and connect communities.
What I dislike about the company
The use of a personnel board for hiring has its benefits, but it ends up taking forever to hire people and then it is difficult to get rid of "dead" weight. We certainly have some people who need to retire or people who are not working to the level of others.
