There is no company culture: in the eyes of this administration, you are nothing but a number which can be easily replaced for a lower pay rate, so stay quiet and keep your head down if you want to keep your job.
Support from management
There is no support from management. Every one is out for themselves.
See the above response. Although teamwork is pushed, once the Adminstrative/Management team is aware of how one supervisor is held in a higher regard above all others, they assume a coup is being staged and purposely sabotage the efforts of that supervisor. When the sabotage is ineffective, that supervisor will be terminated for whatever bogus reason that can be thought of.
Freedom to work independently
You are more than welcome to work independently: once you are assigned to a site, you are completely on your own. Not only is this unfair and dangerous, it is also a handicap: if your relief does not come, you are stuck at that site until someone can be found to replace you. A few employees have had to work 24 hour shifts in the same location without the ability to leave for breaks.
Internal communication is amongst the President and CEO of the company, and one or two of the Operations Managers, no one else. Every other person is kept in the dark regarding the workings of the company, even the Supervisors.
Men are listened to if they are the right color or gender. If you have a vagina, shut up. That is the attitude of this company.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older colleagues are treated more like a nuisance than appreciated.
There is no career development here. You are a guard and that is it. Management has who they want in place for supervisory positions.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation is on a higher scale than most companies, however you are not compensated for mileage, gas or any other perks of having to travel from site to site. There are also absolutely no perks or benefits to working for this company: insurance (health or life or auto), 401K, paid leave, unemployment, discounts, nothing, nada, zip, zilch. None of these things are offered.
Office / Work Environment
The office is an absolute madhouse, most especially during payroll. The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing but will most certainly blame all their issues and woes on someone or something else. There is absolutely no accountability for any thing in this company.
This company expects a bare minimum of 60+ hours BEFORE the had to go full on legit with the federal (IRS, UIA, BBB), state and city/county governments. Now you are lucky to work 30 hrs per week, and the moment you need to have someone else cover your shift for whatever issues, you are immediately placed on a 48 hour leave. A second infraction garners a four day suspension. Clearly termination is next.
Company image is completed shattered after a terrible start to the Little Caesars Arena opening month in which over 140 employees were not properly paid.
There is no job security. You will have a job on Monday and be unemployed by Wednesday if the CEO is having a particularly bad day.
No one works for the company with a physical handicap, but there are employees with mental ones who are treated pretty well for the most part.
Workplace safety is pretty much null and void. However it is security: it comes with the territory.
There is nothing challenging about these jobs, unless standing in one place for hours at a time with no restroom or smoke breaks is considered a challenge.
Inclusive / Diverse
Unless you are a white man or woman, or a Jewish man or woman, there is absolutely no room for you in this company outside of being on the lower totem pole.
Suggestions for improvement
- Suggestions for improvement include management actually advocating for an open door policy instead of threatening job security for wanting to express issues within the company infrastructure.
What I like about the company
There is little to like about this company.
What I dislike about the company
Dislikes include pay scale and frequency; lack of overall concern and safety for employees at job sites; demand for 60+ hr work weeks and incorrect pay which is not often corrected for weeks on end; management is disrespectful, inconsiderate and lack the communications skills necessary to keep both employees and clientele satisfied: the relationship between the two is highly damaged.
