If you have no experience, Clark is an okay first job, but don't stay too long. Two years maximum.

Company Culture

Many nice people, but you have to work to connect as there's a lot of isolation.

Support from management

They're distant and usually make problems worse.

Teamwork

If you want to, you can. There's no support or plan for this.

Freedom to work independently

You must work independently. You can do anything you like in class because there's no supervision.

Internal Communication

After 7 years, I never received or worked with someone who received a Thank You for going beyond the call of duty.

Gender Equality

Oh, no. My male colleagues got reimbursed for expenses for international teaching, that women are denied. I'm taking them to court over this.

Attitude towards older colleagues

If you're over their "Age Limit" you can't teach in China.

Career Development

There aren't many positions above Adjunct Professor. A few, but very few.

Overall compensation for your work

Most universities pay more. My current job does.

Office / Work Environment

Very basic offices. Classrooms are standard. You'll need to provide your own laptop.

Work-Life Balance

No. Most of us worked 50-70 hours a week.

Company Image

The conditions were so bad that I was embarrassed to talk about my employer when others were chatting about theirs.

Job Security

Challenging Work

Inclusive / Diverse

Their hiring seems fair. I don't know who doesn't get hired though.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would fund and encourage skill development by reimbursing teachers for conference attendance once every two years. Then I would form forums for teachers to share what they've gained from the conference sessions.I would make more positions full time so n

What I like about the company

The students are charming and positive. They're grateful for their teachers and that's significant. The same is true of many university ESL programs though.

What I dislike about the company

I don't like their ethics. They have a lot of students cheating by plagiarizing and buying papers online. The administration will let you fail them, but they may cave and change a grade if a student cries enough. They don't want to lose the revenue from t
