It depends a lot on your location. Some of the smaller job sites in more rural areas have some of the worst, rudest workers while the main branch in Tampa has some very skilled and hard-working employees.
Boss was very difficult to speak to and forgets things very often as well as runs conversations in circles while the supervisor never told us about upcoming events and always put us on the spot. Rarely were commended for a job well done.
Was told there would be room for growth and wage raises but have seen nothing in the two yeara I've been there despite always working hard.
Overall compensation for your work
No matter how hard I've worked I only ever get paid minimum wage, even for special events.
They're desperate for workers.
You have to have good time management and the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time. Very demanding work.
Suggestions for improvement
- I would pay the workers more and practice better communication as well as offer paid time off and healthcare.
What I like about the company
Hours are flexible, and if you're just looking for a little extra cash generally the hours aren't long depending on the site you're working.
What I dislike about the company
We didn't always receive our supplies on time despite badgering our boss, and while they were willing to give us a few more hours here and there it was always for very little pay. Working special events where the building was rented out to other parties never earned us more than minimum wage despite having to complete tasks outside of our normal contract and being expected to keep up with the crowds.
