I think the work climate has progressively diminished in the last 2-3 years. Lots of turnover and layoffs; this leads to distrust in supervisors and coworkers.
This became a company of leaders chosen, not by experience or ability; but, by who you got in good with.. This led to some very unqualified managers and leaders in positions they shouldn't be in.
This company expressed "Teamwork"; but, most of it was show. In the last couple of years; the departments dealt with excessive gossip and "back stabbing" to get ahead and not get laid off.
Communication between leadership and staff is "lip service." Most of the leaders are under-qualified for the positions they hold now. This is really a sad change. 3-5 years ago; the leadership in this company was amazing. Now, it is just a virtual shell of what it previously was. Very sad...
I will let the layoffs in 2015 answer to this question.
Most leadership layoffs in 2015 focused on older leadership followed by middle aged and older staff. Say what you want, but, just look at the age and layoffs in 2015; the rest is history.
If you get in good with the executive team; your promoted. Otherwise, regardless of experience or ability; your out.
Huge cut in employee benefits in 2015; accrued vacation pay lost; etc. Sad... the company got itself into such a position.
Staffs are overworked and crucial departments understaffed.
The company gives a positive image to the public.. The day to day stressful work environment is a different story.
Job security went out the window long ago.. Dedication and longevity with the company meant nothing; when it downsized all departments in 2015.
This company in past years was amazing in the sense of ownership and inclusiveness between staff and leadership.. That has changed unfortunately in the last three years.
Leadership was horrible
