Rampant sexism, blatant homophobia
My coworkers and one supervisor were wonderful but they were the only reason I could handle such a hostile, toxic working environment everyday.
Support from management
There was one manager who cared and wanted to help and was always so encouraging but she was the outlier
It's individual work but the training supervisor was very helpful and hands-on and my coworkers were always willing to help new people
Freedom to work independently
After they assign you your agents and you get a desk they pretty much leave you alone until they felt like blaming you for something that you likely had nothing to do with
One of my agents found out about the bonus structure and when my manager found out, he assumed I told the agent and brought me into a meeting where he berated me, threatened me, and accused me of passing internal information to an agent. He found out the next day that the employee who revealed our bonus structure was someone who was reassigned one of my old agents. He didn't admit any wrongdoing, apologize, or treat the other employee with the same disrespect he did me.
This company hires a lot of women but only so the creepy upper management man trash can ogle them while they're trying to earn a living.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Coworkers were mostly awesome
Dead end job
Overall compensation for your work
$9 an hour + bonus, and if you acted as though the money was
Office / Work Environment
It was okay. Not great, but I've seen worse places if this just means the physical office space.
To my knowledge they took no action to reduce their carbon footprint
Hours were 9am - 6pm Monday - Friday and it was made very clear that nothing in our lives was to come before this company and our jobs
I don't know what their image is these days but I imagine it's not good
They threatened to fire me as a scare tactic more than once even though my metrics were in the Top 3 in the office every day. They made it clear that I am expendable and valued as a resource, not a person
Upstairs at a stripmall with no elevator
The environment was objectively safe on its own, until you added the predatory male supervisors
It takes a few days to get your foothold with live outbound calls but it's pleasantly easy and offers enough variety that I enjoyed my work
Inclusive / Diverse
This company is very white and seems to be that way by design. There were like three PoC working there when I was but other than that, the only people I ever saw get offers after interviews were white.
Suggestions for improvement
- This was one of my favorite jobs, which is disappointing because the company is terrible. I was very good at my work and consistently performed well. I believe I was let go for speaking out about sexual harassment and sexism, which was going on right in front of the owner's faces, unchecked.
What I like about the company
I enjoyed the actual work very much and I was good at it. My coworkers were great people and I might still be there if not for their predatory management staff
What I dislike about the company
Everything else. Homophobia, sexism, racism, nepotism, hostile work environment, active bullying from management
