My team members were all positive motivated players who, in turn, empowered me!
Support from management
The company did not want to invest the time and financial backing necessary to make my department succeed, but I fully understand the economics of the situation.
Positive motivation; need I say more?
Freedom to work independently
I ran my department with very little interference.
My supervisor and other team members totally rocked!
While I personally did not experience this, it is my understanding that certain female managers make less than the male coworkers they manage.
They had great career development policies in place.
Office / Work Environment
I love it. Most of the people I worked with in the Orlando office were great.
As an exempt employee, I was entitled to unlimited time off, however the reality is that it was very difficult to take off because I was the sole, full time employee dedicated to my department.
They closed my department and, when another department job became available, my reemployment was denied by executive management, purportedly because I'd been terminated as the result of the closing of my department, notwithstanding that six other people who had worked with me had wholeheartedly approved it.
Inclusive / Diverse
My department was not well known and, when I received a substantial promotion, it was never announced to the firm, similar to the promotions of others in the firm.
Suggestions for improvement
- Orlando should not allow principals to intercom
And speaker conference others with their door open as it is disruptive to other workers.
What I like about the company
Great benefits, positivity in team members.
What I dislike about the company
The gender issue and the fact that it was held against me that my department was closed, notwithstanding that there were processes put into place before I became employed there which I had no control over and led to the failure of my department.
