Suggestions for improvement
- Create new positions for teacher mentors who are there specifically to aid the teacher in being effective and efficient. Other teachers as mentors do not count. They already have enough of their own responsibilities and can't help as much as needed. It should be a position specifically designed to be at the aid of every teacher. One mentor could have a handful of teachers though.
What I like about the company
Felt very supported by my administrators at the school, as well as other teachers. Fun and safe environment. The school I worked at was great at trusting it's employees and their expertise rather than creating more demands than necessary on them.
What I dislike about the company
The education system in general makes it extremely hard for teachers who are in their first couple of years. The demands are insurmountable and that leaves little room to practice your own creativity and independence in teaching. You're forced to follow everyone else's lesson plans to survive. It is also hard to fully meet the needs of every students like you would want to, or attempt some of the ideas that education is pushing. You're too busy trying to complete what's already in front of you, so transitioning to a new method is virtually impossible.
