Lack of team coordination. .
Poor communication between the field and office. Project Administrator's (PA's) do not communicate and or coordinate costs increases and schedule delays with the site Project Manager, prior to there weekly project status meeting with the owner
Construction/Project Managers were expected to work 50 to 55 hours minimum a week.
Suggestions for improvement
- Pre-construction awards bid, defines the the scope of work and contract's subcontractors with out the Construction/Project Managers review or input. As a result there were major scope gaps and material lead time issues. The Prime contractor was` encouraged to assess these costs solely to the appropriate subcontractor
What I like about the company
The on-site Project Managers were able to run the project independently from the office and were given a healthy level of anatomy.
What I dislike about the company
The On-site Project Managers would coordinate all costs and schedule impacts with the Project Administrator and this information was never documented or entered into the construction management software or accounting department. As a result this lead to tension and distrust issues with the owner
