Fairly diverse environment, but if you are not in the "right cliche" you are treated very poorly and left to do all the work while others advance rapidly and bring in UN-knowledgeable family members/friends into all of upper management/leadership positions, but because of their lack of understanding it puts even more of a strain on the company as a whole.
Support from management
Management tends to keep you in the dark. They know the company is in far worse condition than they want to admit so they leave you in the dark in order for the work to continue.
The only time team works is when they are "getting along" otherwise it's back stabbing, whispering, and sabotage (mostly from upper management, I believe this is the case because they see how the "system works" and they know if a position comes available they can place another friend in place, so they make it very hard and nearly impossible for individuals to work successfully.
Freedom to work independently
Absolutely! Considering in many cases you are the ONLY one working!
You are only spoken to cordially when someone needs something from you. Very poor communication all across the board. If you are not "in the know" you don't know anything!
Attitude towards older colleagues
With such insecurity in the work place job wise, often times people will hold back knowledge and vital information in order to keep value on them while decreasing your value in order to keep their own job secure.
Overall compensation for your work
It's the perks that get you. Great schedule (when they allow you to stick to your schedule), plenty of off time including vacation, sick, and personal time off and most holidays. And though it's salary, you get paid overtime. And they pay for your insurance. In addition, they feed us often. It's the "perks" that reel you in and keep you there even through the misery.
Those who are friendly are great and always friendly however, so many can go days and weeks and treat you like you are invisible UNTIL they Need you then they are as sweet as Christmas.
They will work you until you are bleeding from your eyes if you let them! Plenty of off days but they treat you like a misfit for wanting to use them.
Only for the inner circle of people and friends; for those individuals if you are not "working out" in one department they pass you off on the next until they just can't anymore. However, if you are not then out the door you go. However, with the condition of the company jobs are really not secure at this time for anyone.
It's fine as long as you don't have to go past the lobby.
Work here at your own risk!
With ever-changing policies, procedures, staff, and client needs they ensure that every day is a challenge at work!
Inclusive / Diverse
Inclusive; only if you are close to members of the inner circle.
Suggestions for improvement
- Fire all of upper management and start fresh. New and improved hiring screening and process. Limit the number of family member working together. Make management more diverse. Put better training metrics in place. Put in policies that will treat ALL people the same or at least fairly; including based on their work ethic and knowledge.
What I like about the company
The perks are great! 5 sicks days a year, 5 personal days a year, 80 hours of vacation, and 12 paid holiday off days. They pay for our insurance (no per pay period expense). Some of the people you meet are simply amazing and because they "understand" they display empathy and support and help make some of the most miserable days bearable. (Unfortunately, due to the working environment we are losing so many of those individuals.) Oh yea, it keeps the bills paid!
What I dislike about the company
Everything that I don't like. Mostly the unfair people you are forced to deal with. The "inner circle".
