No recognition of job well done , they take you a notch below any exceeding score in any situation to avoid providing fair compensation . HR never has the interest of anyone except their friends , all of whom are given prefer ntus promotional opportunities , despite being a public owned utility . A close knit group only interested in a nice fat retirement for their friends .
Support from management
Lack of training , lack of communication . Retaliatory work environment , don't ask any questions or offer process improvements ..
A clique . Good assignments given only to favorites and people who are friends out of the workplace
Women are only included in male dominated positions as 1 per Dept . Token woman in each male dominated Dept if even 1 woman .. HR will never help you if you try to move into any position and it's make dominated , rather than create opportunity for women they choose to find reasons you should not be promoted and will even go so far as to tell you you are not qualified even when others are and have been moved to those positions and given on the job training . They are not Equal opportunity at all
Attitude towards older colleagues
No matter how fit you are they seem to think anyone over 40 is not worth investing training in.
Very minimal opportunity to train , most is just online training and not anything above the very basic of job related safety certification CPR ( they never allow cross training unless you are a good friend to someone in Dept you wish to train in )

Old outdated equipment and often performing repetitive non essential projects to waste time and worth while projects skill building and interesting projects given to rehired retirees ..
If you have children they do not like you using sick time to care for them , they will use it against you even if you provide a dr note ( hr doesn't recognize any employee rights in thi area )
Image and reality is not truth image of being an inclusive employer owned by community and a reflection of the community it serves .. False and misleading
There's never stability in any environment that is looking for ways to eliminate positions and encourage people to retire
lack of incentive for go getters or anyone who really likes to use time wisely . They do not provide challenging skill building opportunity unless you are in their clique , hang out after work or kiss up to everyone . People who have a life outside work can't ever look forward to an interesting day , they create mundane tasks to waste time and never stimulate any type of new skill set , they like to keep people in positions and not allow advance to anything higher

Diversity is not tolerated well , they do not welcome opinions other than their own or that if their friends

- Overhaul your good ole boy system and come into a future where everyone IS valued and equal . Make Colorado Springs Utilities a true reflection of the community it serves .
