Company culture is diverse and promotes team work and guest satisfaction.
Support from management
This hotel is family owned and does not include the employees in the decision making processes for its departments. Although, the manager does ask those with seniority what they think of situations they could be part of and will respect their decision enough to use it.
Front desk staff do work well together as a team to take care of the guests. Housekeeping is a little divided and those with seniority constantly seem to be in a silent power struggle. Both departments seem to come together though and do and outstanding job of taking care of guests.
Freedom to work independently
Almost all employees work independently. Only one front desk agent at the desk at all times. One housekeeper per room is allotted also. As long as the work gets done, the boss does not step in.
We do not have company memos. We learn from playing the telephone game, but suprisingly everything goes well.
We have both men and women on our staff
Attitude towards older colleagues
Senior collegues are very well respected here!!!
Overall compensation for your work
For some positions I would agree to yes. Others I would have to say no. They do not offer benefits. They pay overtime but give seldom raises. The pay rates are on the lower side of the hotel industry.
Office / Work Environment
Work environment is excellent. Unlike other hotels the front desk is allowed to sit behind the desk until a guest approaches. The computers and software are compatible and overall the place is decent to work for. I love it.
We do have a recycling program in place with no real effort to follow it.
This is the main reason I chose to stay here. Most of the employees and definitely the boss values a work life balance. Once you have established yourself here we all become flexible.
This hotel is a very well established hotel in the community, and the rooms and amenities are great.
At times I feel as if my job is stable, and I feel irreplacable. At others I feel like the manager takes away what is supposed to be my responsibility and gives it to others because of my home life work load schedule.
Yes but at the bare minimum.
The environment is safe and proves to be in compliance with all city and state laws.
We take pride in the services we provide here, and we deliver great customer service. At the beginning the work may be challenging to learn the ropes of the industry, but once learned it is not easily something forgotten as it is mostly repetitious.
Inclusive / Diverse
We do not like to fix things that are not broken. By we, I mean the front desk staff. The manager is always open to bettering our current process and results, and sometimes while bringing others in to do so. This steps on the toes if those with seniority.
