- Comm-Works Investment Holding Company, LLC06.Jan 2017
Social with an unique way of breaking the ice for new employees.
Support from management
Management available via email or instant messaging.
Employees overloaded, not allowing them to work well with others.
Relied heavily on emails and instant messaging for communication.
Good balance of gender.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Good mix of age groups.
I can see this company as a good stepping stone for someone to come in, obtain the knowledge and move on.
Overall compensation for your work
They do have a recognition program, however it's always the same employees receiving it.
Office / Work Environment
Standard office environment that was easy to get to, facilities have a work out room, small cafe, gift shop, small bank.
In a years time, was never witness to anything eco-friendly.
Work load not evenly distributed, employees doing the work of 3 that could not be managed in 40 hours, and management constantly pushing to meet goals.
From what I could tell, known within their industry, work constantly coming in.
Would not suggest to go in as contract to hire, no follow through with that. Did experience some employees giving 2 weeks notice without another job lined up to go to. Also noticed employees being terminated once work became low on a project, and no option to move internally.
The entire facility is handicap accessible, and they do accommodate by making sure the employees desk is set appropriately.
Safety was never an issue.
Work was understandable, not difficult, challenge was the overload of work.
Inclusive / Diverse
Open to all backgrounds, no issues here.
Suggestions for improvement
- Step away from relying on emails and instant messages to communicate with employees. Take the time to listen to what employees have to say in regards to daily work loads.
What I like about the company
Ability to learn more about a different industry.
What I dislike about the company
Lack of leadership, proper communication with employees also was lacking. Salaried employees expected to work 40 hours plus with no compensation. Misguiding customers with the level of service that they will receive from their understaffed employees.
