Pervasive culture of Machiavellian politics.
Support from management
Routinely engage in "set-up" games to get rid of employees they view as a threat because they know too much about what goes on at the office.
Freedom to work independently
Supervisors have reasonable autonomy, but no support whatsoever from management.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Constantly necessary to "CYA"
None. Your stuck in the position you're hired for until you quit. The only promotion you will ever get is to a position they cannot fill because nobody wants it.
Overall compensation for your work
Grossly underpay employees versus industry standard.
Office / Work Environment
Toxic work environment.
Take it or leave it attitude.
Bottom-of-the-barrel. The company has lost more customers than they have gained due to substandard employees and nonexistent supervision.
Just so you know this is not a retaliatory remark by a terminated employee, I voluntarily resigned with proper notice. Any employee they don't like essentially goes on the, "Pay no mind list," and there is conveniently, "No hours available," for them until they quit to avoid unemployment claims against the company for firing them without cause, while others they do are permitted to do essentially anything they want with impunity.
Complete disregard for employee safety.
Extremely challenging, if you enjoy cleaning up everyone else's messes and constantly looking over your shoulder to watch out for the next set-up by management.
Suggestions for improvement
- Clean house and start from scratch.
What I like about the company
Not a thing.
What I dislike about the company
Support for line supervisors is nonexistent, in fact management and HR routinely engage in "set-up" games in an attempt to get rid of employees they view as a threat because the "know too much" about the goings on at the office. There is a pervasive culture of unconscious incompetence among management and permissive attitude toward rule violations guided by the principle of, "If nobody finds out, we can get away with it."
