Support from management
The management at this company is some of the WORST I've worked for in 15 years. Backstabbing and gossip is encouraged. Hard work is not recognized.
Teamwork is a foreign word here. If you do your job well, you get to do everyone else's job too.
Freedom to work independently
This is a tricky one. They want you to do everything on your own, but at the same time they want to "catch" you doing something wrong so they can penalize you OR penalize you for asking questions on their unclear policies
Communication is just as awful as teamwork at this company.
I work on a floor where there are 3 men. All the men are VPs and 3 of the 20 women are AVPs or less.
Promotion from within is virutally nonexistent
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is not good, though that is fairly normal in non-sales banking
Office / Work Environment
Open office setup for the most part. You are expected to complete very detailed work in a loud environment.
I think the public regards this company positively for the most part.
People are fired right and left around here. Also people quit a lot. There is an unusual amount of turnover, especially in the bank branches.
I do like my actual job. It's the management and lack of procedures that I don't like.
Inclusive / Diverse
Absolutely NOT inclusive.Very conservative politically. People have been outright bullied for not agreeing politically with others.
Suggestions for improvement
- Promote from within. Treat everyone with respect. Compensate your employees fairly.
What I like about the company
I like that it is a community bank.
What I dislike about the company
Management, communication and teamwork are not good. Since it's a small community, I'm going with stuck-up/uppity to describe the work environment.
