The drive to drive.
Overall compensation for your work
I think it was okay pay according to experience but it didn't stop all the other guys from complaining about it. Although there are no insurance benefits and obviously over-time is straight pay (no time and a half). Though I heard about holiday bonuses in past years, and there is a Christmas party.
It's not easy work and it does require thinking and attention and respect of details. But it is fairly simple work, it's important to deliver freight but it's nothing to write home about. I knew this going into this line of work, no complaints.
What I like about the company
They were very understanding up-front and honest. I had some personal issues at the time that they were very understanding about. Plus if you have an issue you can ask for help and get it sorted out pretty quickly.
What I dislike about the company
I wasn't from this line of work originally so maybe this is normal, but they run a pretty tight and efficient ship. Once the daily runs are made up and issued you are usually off and running steady until the end of the day. Most of the time it wasn't a problem but every once in a while bathroom breaks or lunch time felt like it was being 'stolen' from company time. Other than that is wasn't too bad.
