- Comunilife, Inc.07.Sep 2018
Its presented as I integrating culture but it's more about relationships
Support from management
Management is more focus on paperwork and record keeping for the sake of government funding
The lower staff is always held accountable and poor advocacy by upper staff
Freedom to work independently
Work always under revision
Most incidents are contained ...unreported to upper management and reports are altered to reflect different facts
Witnessed sexual harassment among staff and with clients
No training offered
Overall compensation for your work
Poor. Can do better with benefits and health package
Office / Work Environment
Clients are/can be verbally and physically abusive to staff and are not held accountable for their actions.
Friendly staff until gossip starts with staff and clients. Staff often behaved as if clients were friends
Long hours and holidays have yo work
Presents as having great values yet does not hold individual ability to gain independence as a priority
No security in a work environment that is not safe
Location was set for this need
Units have to be monitored and inspect twice or more a month and clients have paraphernalia laying about (needles and illicit substances) and smoke in the units.
Inclusive / Diverse
Suggestions for improvement
- Restructure/enforcement of policies against violence in the workplace and sharing incident reports and sexual harassment with HR. The agency also needs to look at clients liability for braking property and not doing anything to improve their lifestyle while in residential program.
What I like about the company
Working with individuals who were ready for change and growth.
What I dislike about the company
The focus on keeping units full and turning a program intended to help individuals improve their wellbeing into a culture that supports violence and drug use.
