Though it still has a shade of its once glamorous past, the company continues to adopt policies that destroy that culture.
Support from management
The corporation has policies designed to help employees achieve goals but in practice, management does whatever it wants with hr sign off, including abusive practices.
Freedom to work independently
Again, mgmt claims to give autonomy and reward innovation but I saw many examples of abusive behavior towards employees by c suite execs rewarded by the corporation.
desperate to stay relevant in the modern media market, the company regularly trots out euphemistic announcements of its success. The truth of it's success is ridiculously inflated.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Company is actively eliminating old timers, I'm guessing to reduce costs.
The company has always had a laughable career advancement record, though hr claims otherwise. It's sad.
Overall compensation for your work
Never has. Company has always paid bare minimum, with the arrogant attitude that people should feel privileged to work for it.
Office / Work Environment
Office is basic, but decent.
It claims a 35-hour work week that is largely ignored. The corporation over the years has gradually eliminated perks that were once a big part of the culture.
It once had a glamorous cachet that has gradually been eliminated. Now it just looks desperate.
The company has been hemoraging talent as it tries to stay profitable. Nobody feels stable as it continuously restructures.
Inclusive / Diverse
As the company regears itself to attempt to adapt to the new media landscape, it has eliminated anyone who does not fit into its 'employees as replaceable widgets' attitude.
Suggestions for improvement
What I like about the company
What I dislike about the company
Over the years as it seems to swirl down the toilet, the company has hired upper management that is making things far worse for employees at the expense of its now tarnished reputation as a premier company.
